ABOUT:
WE DID THE WALK TWICE. FROM THE WOODWARDS BUILDING TO BURNABY MOUNTAIN: WE WALKED THAT TWICE. WE TALKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH OUR FIRST PASS. WHEN WE CAME BACK TO IT A SECOND TIME, WE KNEW BETTER WHAT TO EXPECT AND WE LISTENED.
Strange Memorial retells these two experiences in an audio memoir that merges music concrète and the rhythms of conversation. We remember mostly how we tried to talk our way out of a place that couldn't give us what we wanted. Between blisters and breath, we told each other stories about walks from our past. We stuck to Hastings St., but did our best to forget it. When we returned, we were surprised to find there was something we badly wanted to remember.
